SAVENYE _ Rene Herman born in Holland October 9, 1938, passed away suddenly July 26,

wanted, wearing his hiking boots, on top of a mountain (Mount Fairview near Lake
Louise). Rene is survived by Anne (Johnson) his loving wife of 40 years, sons Mike
(Marilyn) and Ed, his Mom Vera, and predeceased by his dad Fred and son Paul (Terry). He
is also survived by brothers Jack (Donna), Frank (Dianna), and sister Carla Evans as
well as numerous nephews and nieces. Rene retired as a biology teacher from Princess
Margaret (Surrey), after 31 stellar years, to follow his naturalist dream and passion,
including his love of hiking, photography and the disciplines of Biology, Botany,
Mycology, and Paleontology. His work and dedication in these fields, and leadership of
